Don’t let just anyone try to scrap your industrial batteries. You are legally reasonable for your industrial battery from use and storage to transportation and recycling. Battery Power Systems and East Penn Manufacturing Co. (“East Penn”) administers and coordinates the proper management of spent lead acid batteries consistent with current United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (EPA ID #PAD002330165) and DOT regulations.

After Battery Power Systems and East Penn has taken physical possession of the spent lead acid batteries, East Penn shall defend and indemnify customers who return spent lead acid batteries to East Penn from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, actions, penalties that arise out of East Penn’s sole negligence in the transportation and recycling of the spent lead acid batteries; provided however, such indemnification shall not apply to claims arising as a result of any customer returning any non-lead acid battery (i.e., lithium ion).

Our Recycling Program

Battery Power Systems Inc. in conjunction with East Penn Manufacturing can assist you with removal of any used lead-acid batteries. All used lead acid batteries recycled by Battery Power Systems Inc. are properly handled and recycled through East Penn’s onsite EPA ‘Part B’ top rated class 3 smelter/refinery operation. Their certified EPA approved facility recycles virtually 100% of every spent lead-acid battery and reuses just about all materials in production for new batteries.

BPS will insure transportation and recycling is handled professionally and responsibly by using our manufacturer’s facility. Proper paperwork can be provided if needed to show that it will be going back to East Penn Manufacturing.
